Trincomalee and Jaffna - North East Sri Lanka

Описание: Hello travellers, I am Vijaya from The Meraki Explorer. This travel vlog is from Trincomalee and Jaffna in the month of February 2020.



After covering southern and central Sri Lanka, I decided to go to Trincomalee for 2 reasons. One reason that my flight back to India was from Jaffna and second that a few locals suggested Trincomalee for its beautiful natural habor and less tourists.



Despite meeting with a bike accident back in India, I made it to Sri Lanka. And after 3 weeks In Sri Lanka, my last destination happened to be Trincomalee and Jaffna. There are a plethora of unexplored beaches in Trincomalee. Beautiful coast, amazing seafood and ofcoursethe warmth of Sri Lankan's. I stayed at Wanderer's Hostel in Trincomalee and then took a bus to Jaffna.


Jaffna is a war torn place, where a civil war got over only in 2006. Jaffna still has abandoned houses and a high military security. Filled with a lot of Indians, felt more Indian to me than Sri Lanka.
