Snowmobile Driving SnowStorm Experience at Langjokull (Long Glacier) Iceland POV VIDEO full Briefing

Описание: (Feb.27) Unforgettable! Driving a snowmobile during a snowstorm can be an adrenaline rush. We drove for an hour during heavy snowfall and strong winds at the Longjokull or the Long Glacier in Iceland. Complete POV videos included and Tips!

The experience starts from Gullfoss area where we ride a Monster truck to the Longjokull Glacier base camp. It takes about 1 hour from Gulfoss to base camp and we had to stop in the middle to deflate the tires for better grip while travelling in the glacier. The view outside the bus was a bit scary because almost the entire time on the truck we could not see anything outside. The landscape was enveloped in heavy snowfall and strong winds. Upon disembarking, we were asked to go to the comfort room first before changing into our snowmobile clothes and helmet. Our warm clothes did not matter since we were all asked to wear the blue suits and warm heavy gloves for the drive. The staff also helped us choose a proper helmet before we were instructed to proceed to the tour briefing.

Once outside, our fears became real as the snow storm obscured the surrounding terrain making it difficult to see farther away. Oliver, our guide, ran us through the instructions on driving a snowmobile and our itinerary for the 1 hour trip. After the briefing we were instructed to choose a snowmobile and prepare to drive into the snowy wilderness. Unexpectely, the drive was faster than was planned. I was catching up to the snowmobile in front of me because it was the only one that was guiding me through the snow. Without a guide, driving in a snow storm was very difficult. I could not see where I was going and I do not know where I am driving. I could not see if there were any irregularities in the terrain. After driving about 25 minutes, we stopped in the middle of the glacier to take photos and to rest.

I brought 2 cameras during the ride and both were covered in snow and ice. I mounted my DJI Action 4 in my chest while the Insta360 X4 camera was extended 1 meter away from me. The 360 camera was covered in ice and snow and had difficulty recording clearly. in both cameras, the lens facing the wind was covered in ice and snow while the rear camera was a bit clear.
After about 10 minutes, it was time to switch drivers. I was riding behind my friend Ken during the 20 minute ride back to base camp. After doffing our blue suits, we were advised to go back to the monster truck for our trip back to Gulfoss Area.

By the way, Iceland is not exempted in becoming unsafe for tourists. A member of our tour group was robbed while enjoying the view at Gullfoss. Her wallet with cash and credit cards were stolen while she was busy taking pictures in Gullfoss. Unfortunately, when she called the bank in the Philippines no one was answering since it was still night time. The thieves had used the credit card before it was blocked and incurred massive charges. So please take care of your valuables at all times while travelling.
