In this message from Zion Baptist Church, we look again at key Scriptures to go deeper into what it truly means to be the Church—the called-out ones—built on the revelation of who Jesus Christ is (Matthew 16).

We’re reminded that salvation is not man-made religion or works, but God’s call and purpose—bringing believers into a living fellowship with His Son (1 Corinthians 1; Romans 8–9). The message also explores the stunning truth that God is building a dwelling place for Himself through the Spirit, and that believers are a chosen generation and a royal priesthood (1 Peter 2), serving in a heavenly ministry through Christ (Hebrews 8–9).

A central challenge is this: Will we trust God enough to enter His rest? Not a physical rest, but the spiritual rest found in Christ—ceasing from self-effort and relying on His faithfulness (Hebrews 4). Along the way, we’re encouraged through examples from Psalm 132 and Ruth, showing that the Lord will finish what He starts in His people.
