More than a real sequel to the first chapter (here's a link where you can find all prequel endings:    • Octopath Traveler - Xbox Series S - Therio...  ), this seems to be a rivisited edition, with new features, a bigger map and more refined under almost every aspect.

You'll fin A LOT of similar mechanics and even plot details with its prequel, but overall it's a more definitive experience imho.
On the other hand, they makes everything more easy: levelling is faster, certain special moves are simply overpowered and even final bosses became like "cannon fodder" under our attacks. A pity if you ask me, turn based rpg could be epic if you can enjoy every enemy gimmick, adjusting you gameplay to overcome it!

Like the first game, the first initial of each Traveler's name, spells out Octopath (Ochette, Castti, Throné, Osvald, Partitio, Agnea, Temenos, and Hikari).
The game sold 1 million units by June 2023.

The etymology of Throné’s name, coupled with her appearance and job class, could make it a pun based on the expression “every rose has its thorn,” meaning good things sometimes come with flaws.
Throné is the only traveler from Octopath Traveler II whose bosses are all human.
Throné is the only main character in the series that can be killed and earn an automatic Game Over without dying in battle. This happens if the wrong cup is chosen during the Slaver's drinking game.
