Описание: Neonate of day 3 life with severe jaundice accompanied by a rare neurological condition - bilirubin encephalopathy (affecting the brain) was brought to People Tree Hospitals.

With mentioned condition the baby appeared yellowish green in complexion with bilirubin level 27.6. This is due to Rh incompatibility - occurs when the mother's blood type is Rh negative (O-) and the baby's blood type is Rh positive (O+).

Dr. Sunilkumar Ganjamad, Consultant - Neonatology & Pediatric Medicine, People Tree Hospitals examined the neonate and Double Volume Exchange Transfusion was conducted twice. With constant observation and medication the baby is now doing fine with bilirubin level 10. This intervention prevents the long term neurodevelopmental disabilities.
