Ministry of education and sports has cautioned headteachers in Kampala schools against the practice of automatic promotion of pupils in primary schools saying it has led to a big number of failures at primary seven.
During a meeting with the head teachers and supervisors at Nakasero primary school, state minister for primary education, Joyce Moriku Kaducu, said there is no policy for automatic promotion of learners, emphasizing that learners are promoted on merit.
