Setting sail for Scotland on a 120-year-old wooden boat

Описание: Leg 2 of Bessie Ellen's 120th Anniversary Round Britain Tour begins! We depart Pembroke Dock in Wales with 6 guests aboard, plus myself (Kim) and husband Del, AKA the camera crew / Going The Whole Hogg. Keeping us safe and telling us what to do are owner and skipper Nikki Alford, and crew members Owen, Jos and Tommy. Oh, and let's not forget resident salty sea dog, Bracken! My best buddy aboard and personal lap warmer on those chilly days sailing the Irish Sea on our voyage north to Scotland.

2024 marks the 120th anniversary of Bessie Ellen, and to celebrate, her owner and skipper, Nikki Alford, is embarking on a Round Britain Tour and taking part in the maritime festivals at Brest and Douarnenez. Built in Plymouth in 1904, Bessie Ellen spent much of her working life delivering cargo around the West Country and Denmark, but has operated as a charter boat for the last twenty years.

We (Kim and Del Hogg) joined Bessie Ellen for 8 months during this special year to document life aboard and create this 'Year in the Life of Bessie Ellen' series.
