The daily CSX L397 between Barr Yard by Chicago and Ottawa, IL usually leaves around 4-5 in the morning and gets to Ottawa, IL between 7-8 am. Occasionally though they run later with afternoon and evening runs. I decided to first get the train in Morris, IL on the CSX New Rock sub right by the Rock Island depot. Many of the Rock Island depots survive on the former Rock Island route between Chicago and Council Bluffs, IA (now CSX/Iowa Interstate) with some in great shape including three seen in this video. A EJ&E caboose is on display nearby and is featured in the video. I would then see them switching in Seneca, IL before getting them one last time in Marseilles, IL. Normally the train runs 1X1 since there's no wye in Ottawa but for some reason an extra engine was up front possibly for a unit train out of Utica. Enjoy and don't forget to comment and subscribe!!!
