Today we're going to review part number C56299, this is the Curt T-connector, vehicle wiring harness, with the 4-way flat trailer connector. This is a custom fit part, it is designed to fit the Honda Accord sedan starting in 2016. Now, on any custom fit part, what I always like to recommend is to go to our website, use our fit guide, put in your year, and model vehicle, and it will show you if this will work for your application. Now this harness will provide this 4-way flat trailer connector to back your vehicle to power your trailer's signal lights, it connects very quickly and easily. There's no cutting or splicing of wires. Basically, you just locate your connection points, which are in the trunk are behind the tail lights. Plug in these t-connectors, there's basically three on the driver side, and one on the passenger side.

Ground the white wire right here, and then run this hot lead power wire to the vehicle's battery. That would have you all ready to go. Now, this does include this tail light converter right here, this black box. This is to ensure that your vehicle's wiring will match that of your trailer. It again, is a power module converter, uses this power wire to connect to your battery, gives power to this converter directly from the battery, and this is to over loading your vehicles electrical system. The converter itself is constructed using SMT technology which is surface mount technology, gives you consistent, reliable performance.

It will maximize your trailer light yield and intensity while producing minimal heat. It will also give you superior operation in rough road conditions. This part also comes with a nice dust cap for your 4-way, so in other words, you just attach this to the 4-way plug and when you're not plugged into your trailer, when it's in storage, just put the cap over the terminals to protect them from any damage or from the elements. A few specs on this harness, the maximum amperage for the converter on this stop and turn light circuit is 3 amps per circuit. On the tail light circuit it's 6 amps total. It comes with everything shown here on the table.

It comes with a nice set of detailed instruction, and it will describe how to install it, and it will give you pictures to show where your connections are. Briefly, how this would install, is you go the rear, or the trunk area of the vehicle, and again, gain access behind the tail lights. You want to start on the driver side, and what you'll see is there's three sets of t-connectors, each connector is different, so what you'll do is go to the driver's side tail light, find the three connections over there, that will match each connector on here, and plug these all in. Then you have your white wire with the eyelet on it, that needs to connect to a good, clean ground. So, they do include a grounding screw, that you can drill a hole, make your own clean ground. Then you'll take this remaining t-connector that has this longer length of green wire, now that's for the passenger side, so you'll run this over to the passenger side, do the same thing.

Connect this behind the tail light. Once that's all connected, this converter, this box, you want to make sure that attaches to a good flat surface so it doesn't bounce around. They give you a piece of double sided tape, to adhere that down too. They also give you some extra cable ties, if you want the extra security to secure that box down. Once those are all connected, then your last thing is your black Powell wire. It comes out of the converter. Now this will need to run to the positive post of your vehicles battery which is in the front of the car. They do give you this length of wire, take one of the included butt connectors, put it onto the Powell wire, and then run it one end of this length of wire. Then you'll run this length of wire up to the front of the car, and this will connect to the battery, but what you want to do is, before you connect this to vehicle's battery, you'll want to run it through this inline fuse holder. Take the other butt connector, put it on this, one side of the inline fuse holder, just like that. Then on the other side, is what will connect to the positive post of your battery, put on the eyelets connector just like that. Then once you get it connected, just go ahead and open your fuse holder up, take the included 10 amp fuse, put it into your fuse holder, put the cap on it, and your system would be all ready to go. Now, they give you some extra cable ties to take up any slack to keep this wire from hanging down. O
