Описание: Hike and wild camp in the Maumturks in Connemara. A 15km hike through the Central Maumturks with amazing views across the entire range. The central peaks are quartzite rock and progress can be slow at times negotiating a path through the rock. I parked at Máméan Carpark and walked another kilometre or two along the road before commencing an ascent up the mountain. This was my first visit to the Maumturks and it was a wonderful experience to walk and camp in this dramatic range. The route I chose enabled me to pitch my tent soon after I reached high ground and then continue to walk further into the range with just my camera gear and then return to my camp spot later that evening. The Maumturk range is very demanding with numerous ascents and descents to tackle, it was worth the effort though!
