Frosty camp in the Hilleberg Akto - New Year's Day pleasure!

Описание: There was snow in Wicklow in December and I managed to get out for a few hikes, unfortunately I couldn't camp as I had Christmas plans catching up with friends on a few nights. I was eager to camp at least once before returning to work and if possible to experience a snow camp. The weather and social plans aligned that New Years Day was a good possibility - in the run up to the date, the weather kept getting milder and the likelihood of the snow hanging around seemed to fade. I was still hopeful of a frosty camp and thankfully that worked out. As the purpose of this trip was purely to camp in snow/frost I debated on whether to go to Wicklow or the Mournes which looked like a good possibility too. I settled on Kelly's Lough in Wicklow - I was drawn there and there's no arguing when you get that sense.

So...it was mission accomplished, I camped in frosty conditions and the sky was clear to allow me to fly the drone in the morning to get a peak of the sun above the lower clouds. I didn't want to film too much but I captured a bit to remember the trip and fingers crossed it will provide some entertainment to others!
