The Raincliffe Woods Encounter: Britain’s Forgotten Creature Sighting

Описание: In this 20-minute documentary, writer and researcher Paul Sinclair visits Raincliffe Woods in North Yorkshire to revisit and investigate a long-forgotten encounter from 1973.

During a school cross-country run, two young boys reported seeing a strange and imposing creature standing among the trees. They described it as an 8 to 10-foot-tall, fur-covered being, similar in appearance to a gorilla, though noticeably slimmer in build.

The creature reportedly stood upright before calmly walking away through the woodland. The boys never saw its face — only its huge torso and powerful frame as it disappeared into the distance.

Shaken by what they had witnessed, the boys reported the incident to their teachers upon returning to school. Instead of being believed, they were punished for telling what was dismissed as a fabricated story. As a result, the encounter was forgotten, and the boys kept silent for more than 50 years.
