Today's video is about the conjunctive ending ‘-아서/어서’, which is used to express cause/reason and the sequence of actions.
🔹 Meaning & Usage
(1) Cause / Reason
The first clause is the cause, the second clause is the result.
(2) Sequence of actions (one after another)
The first action happens, then the second.
🔹 Forms
Attached to: verb stems and adjective stems.
When the final vowel of the stem is ㅏ or ㅗ → use -아서 (-aseo)
When the final vowel is not ㅏ or ㅗ → use -어서 (-eoseo)
When the stem contains 하다 → use -해서 (-haeseo)
🔹 Notes
Not used with imperative or propositive sentences
Not combined with past tense marker ‘-었-’
Not combined with future/assumptive marker ‘-겠-’
