Описание: Long-term partnerships are the answer to the skills shortage, as Sunbelt Rentals UK builds on its collaborative relationship with the City of Wolverhampton College, at its Rail Training Centre Launch.

Peter Haddock talked to Phil Parker, Chief Financial Officer for Sunbelt Rentals, in the fourth of our six interviews, supported by business.

They discussed how Sunbelt Rentals has worked with the College for several years. Phil also highlighted why its latest support for the 'Rail Training Centre' builds on its input into the Electric Vehicle and Plant Training facilities, launched recently.

Phil also revealed that the business will spend over £1 Billion on new equipment, as it redefines a more sustainable 'Future of Rental', following a £65m deal with JCB.

Phil: "Building our relationship with the College is extremely important for us, as we are focused on becoming both a leader and innovator when it comes to delivering social value.

"We've got over £900 million more to invest in changing our business to become a fossil free, low carbon, electric solutions provider. So ultimately, what we need is skilled individuals and engineers to help us transition from 'Old World' diesel engines.

"But to do this, we need partnerships with forward-thinking organisations like the City of Wolverhampton College, so we can work collaboratively together to overcome the challenges down the road."

Having reported on all three launches, thanks to invitations from the West Midlands Combined Authority, I can safely say that these partnerships work.

Andy Street, Mayor of the West Midlands also touched on the importance of partnerships in his opening speech for the 'Rail Technology Centre' launch.

Andy: "To Sunbelt Rentals UK, Rhomberg Sersa Rail Group and Amey's AMEY RAIL LIMITED division. The truth is that without your expertise and, to be honest, the cash you have invested, we wouldn't have this industry-leading facility, because it's all about collaboration."

Of course, the centre is supported by other organisations, including the National Infrastructure Solutions (NIS), ISS Labour Ltd, Safeaid Ltd, Hilti Group STRABAG and PORR Group. All of which were represented on the day.
