“We no longer need or desire…’ Trump blasts NATO allies for ‘doing nothing in time of need’

Описание: President Trump has been openly critical of NATO for failing to back U.S. action in Iran. In his latest Truth Social post on 17 March, Trump targeted NATO allies, specifically Japan, South Korea, and Australia. ‘NATO ‘allies’ don’t want to get involved without military operations, despite strongly agreeing with what we are doing,’ Trump wrote. Though not “surprised,” he slammed NATO for doing nothing to support the U.S. in its “time of need”. Praising U.S. action in Iran, he stated: we have decimated Iran’s military, most importantly, their leaders’. Criticizing Japan, Australia, and South Korea, Trump boasted: “We no longer need or desire their assistance”. Trump has been disappointed with NATO for not intervening in the Iran war, particularly after UK PM Starmer took a cautious approach. He also called on nations to help secure the Strait of Hormuz following Iran’s response to U.S.-Israeli attacks.
