Описание: In this video I show how you can use a 1995 and earlier block with 1996 and later marine fuel injection systems. Some high end 1996 and later Mercruiser engines had multiport fuel injection. These engines had plastic vortec timing covers with crankshaft position sensors mounted underneath the crankshaft timing gear. Since none of the 1995 and earlier engines required crankshaft position sensors, there are no 1995 and earlier factory or wide usage timing covers with the needed crankshaft position sensor hole. An internet search turned up a special 1995 and earlier timing cover with the needed crankshaft position sensor hole. The company that sells the cover is called EFI Connections and the part # is 120-00033. The cover fits decent but needs the factory steel dowels found on 1995 and earlier blocks for best alignment. Since the 305 engine I’m working on in the video had a vortec plastic cover installed incorrectly by the previous builder, the dowels had been removed (the vortec covers have plastic locating pins that fit in the dowel holes). You need to source and install the dowels for best alignment.
