Mitsubishi Colt - Fuel Pump Swap and State Emission Test (HD)

Описание: We need to pass the State Emissions Test and our fuel pressure is oscillating, making the engine computer perform high fuel cuts... So a new fuel pump with fuel pressure regulator was ordered and swapped. You can see how to do the fuel pump replacement in the video. What a surprise we saw with the fuel pressure of the new pump! After the swap, both fuel trims were checked, it was quite interesting. After that, we raced the engine to the red line and then...then we gave a shot to the state emission test. It was tempting... just watch.

TOOLS
torx socket T25 for the fuel pump cover
small ratchet
some pliers to hold the carpet up
some diagnose tool, can also be a BT for the smart phone, but not necessary for the swap, just to erase some fault codes if needed

MATERIAL
new fuel pump
300 mm of sheet metal to make a wrench for the big plastic fuel pump nut, the nut diameter is 145 mm
