Also, Cape Spear isn't the most easterly point in North America. That's Nordustrundingen in Greenland.
"Most easterly point" is one of those myths that Newfoundlanders like to tell the world. Like "St. John's is the oldest city in North America ... if you ignore the fact that St. John's wasn't inhabited year-round until 1630 or so, and you ignore all those cities in Mexico and the Caribbean." :-)
