Think bean burgers are boring? Think again! I'm Dr. Tila, your plant-based doctor, and today my mum Rita and I are making incredible black bean and lentil burgers inspired by the world's Blue Zones.
These burgers are completely soy-free and packed with cholesterol-lowering ingredients from the Portfolio Diet Study.
The recipe includes: Black beans, green lentils, smoky chipotle sauce, and vibrant red cabbage slaw. Perfect for meal prep and freezer-friendly!
Science note: I mention Portfolio Diet foods like beans, lentils, and oats in this video. The study also includes nuts, plant stanols, and sterols - this wasn't meant to be an exhaustive list, just the ingredients we're using.
Great for plant-based families, meal prep enthusiasts, or anyone wanting to eat like the world's longest-living people!
📋 Recipe: Serves 6-8 people | 20 min prep | 15 min cook | Freezes for 3 months
