From-Scratch Chicken Pot Pie in a Dutch Oven | The Crust Makes It

Today we are making homemade chicken pot pie in a dutch oven. You could also cook this in a regular oven if you would like to. Try to follow along the best you can. We didn't really cook with any recipe, except for my pie crust. Dice up some chicken and onion and cook in a skillet. Add a little flour and chicken broth. Dice up some celery and potatoes and boil in chicken broth until slightly tender then we added some frozen peas and carrots. Add some cornstarch to some chicken broth and add to vegetables. Continue so simmer until it starts to thicken and then add chicken and onions. Then add to pie crust and bake in oven or dutch oven. The seasonings we used in the chicken and the vegetables was just some Lawry's Seasoning Salt, Lawry's Garlic Salt, and some coarse ground black Pepper.
For the pie crust (which turned out amazing!):
2 cups flour
1/2 tsp salt
Spoonful of Lard
1 Stick of Butter
1 Tablespoon apple cider vinegar
5-6 Tablespoons heavy cream or milk
Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. We chilled ours longer while everything else was cooking.
This turned out so great and the homemade pie crust made all the difference. Happy cooking!
