Today we are making a Thanksgiving dinner for two, all cooked outside. Perfect for empty nesters, or if you just want to keep it simple.
Apple Pie
Pie Crust: 2 cups flour, 1/2 tsp salt, cinnamon and sugar to taste, spoonful of lard, 1 stick of butter, 1 Tablespoon apple cider vinegar, and 5-6 Tablespoons of milk or heavy cream.
Mix dry ingredients then cut in lard and butter, add the rest of your ingredients and stir to you get a firm dough. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Apple Filling: 4 large green apples, peeled and diced, sugar, cinnamon, brown sugar, cornstarch, flour and lemon juice
Cornbread Stuffing: 1 lb. bacon, green onion, celery, minced garlic. Saute then add prepared cornbread. We used Krusteaz honey cornbread.
