Arcs Board Game Review - Fun, Frenzy & Frustration

Arcs is a widely popular game when it came out and I was quite curious on what the hype was all about. I've never had so many people decline to play a game as much as Arcs lol, least to say it's such a divisive game. Had several games of it at 3p and 4p, and thought it was actually quite fun. This is one of those games where you can't take too seriously. The more you try to control the state of the game or strategize out of it, the more it'll upset you by how chaotic and random it can be.

I genuinely liked the card play but it's a bit too suffocating, would probably like it more if it were a bit more lax. An easy solution I can think of is some kind of drafting of the cards so theyre not fully random, you don't have to draft everything all the time, just anything so it's a bit less random and therefore less frustrating. Adding mitigations is the correct move, but it's bloody annoying to have to mitigate for those things all the time.
