This video is a tutorial on how to spray coat Signis AC100, CHASM’s aqueous based carbon nanotube (CNT) ink. Please note, an enclosure with proper exhaust should always be used. For optimum thin film uniformity, it is recommended to use an ultrasonic spray system attached to an automated XYZ linear actuator with a heated platen.
First, the substrate is fixed to the heated platen, set at 55°C, to ensure uniform drying. Ink is precisely fed to the ultrasonic spray head at 0.5 mL/min by a syringe pump. Air pressure from the compressor and sonication power are set at 4 psi and 5W respectively. Then, the ink is sprayed on the heated substrate for a certain amount of passes to achieve the target CNT coverage.
For optimum transparent conductor performance, rinsing with deionized water to remove surfactant and top-coating with a polymer such as Nafion® is recommended following AC100 deposition.
