Abstract
EAT is an R package that includes functions to estimate production frontiers and technical efficiency measures using non-parametric machine learning techniques. The package implements the main algorithms associated with a new technique introduced to estimate the efficiency of a set of decision making units in Economics and Engineering, called Efficiency Analysis Trees. As a novelty, the package incorporates a code to execute an adaptation of Multivariate Adaptive Regression Splines (MARS), which determines a piece-wise linear predictor that resemble the Data Envelopment Analysis estimator. A full example of the use of the new technique is shown.
