In this Thailand Travel Vlog, we take our parents to Kanchanaburi! My parents have always loved the movie The Bridge on the River Kwai so I knew that we MUST take them to Kanchanaburi when they came to visit us in Thailand!
There aren't many trains between Bangkok and Kanchanaburi, so we decided to take our parents there on a mini bus - our most used mode of transportation when we leave the city!
We arrived in Kanchanaburi, checked into our hotel, and headed straight to the Death Railway Museum (Thai-Burma Museum). My parents really like history so this was another place they REALLY wanted to see! Even though the museum is sad, it has lots of information that is good to look at if you're in the area. Right outside the museum is the Kanchanaburi War Cemetery which is a cemetery for 7,000 POW soldiers who worked on the Death Railway.
After seeing some of the history in Kanchanaburi, we headed over to the new Maeklong Glass Skywalk! It only opened a couple months ago in mid 2022 - when Carles and I visited Kanchanaburi before it wasn't even built yet! My mom was scared of the glass, however we all ended up having so much fun!
Next we had to check out the famous Bridge on the River Kwai. We spent some time exploring the bridge and ended up eating Thai food for dinner right next to the bridge where we were able to watch the train cross the bridge in front of us!
The following day we got up early to take a songthaew to the famous Erawan Falls National Park! This is another place Carles and I had already been, but we loved it enough that we wanted to take our parents to see it too! Our of the 7 waterfalls tiers we made it up to tier 5!
After spending a few hours in the national park, we came back to Kanchanaburi to take the famous train back to Bangkok!
This was another place in Thailand that our parents LOVED!!! They were so excited to see it!
