Top Ten Winter Fragrances For Men 2018

Here are my Top Ten Fragrances for Winter and a peek at my fragrance collection.

Welcome to the Frag Rant where every Tuesday I will be ranting about some aspect of fragrance, the fragrance industry and fragrance community.

This week it's my top ten fragrances for winter. There are some classic fragrances in my top ten from houses such as Creed and Chanel as well as some fragrances new for 2018.

At number ten in my list is Zadig and Voltaire's This Is Him. A very different everyday fragrance that's fresh, woodsy and smokey. It opens with a hit of pepper. It zings when you first spray it. In the heart is incense which gives it a smoky richness. In the base is sandalwood which makes it incredibly smooth and easy wearing.

At number nine is Dolce and Gabanna's The One EDP. It's a little sweet, there's some spice in there from the cardamom and there is a really nice tobacco vibe going on. Not a very strong fragrance and I layer this using the shower gel and I reapply regularly!

At number eight is another sweet fragrance and this is the Mugler A*Men Pure Malt. In the top there is fruit, in the heart is malt, whisky and coffee. In the base, there is supposed to be peat but I'm not really smelling the peat note. However, I do get the amber, musk and vanilla.

At number seven is the Aramis Tobacco Reserve. In the top are clary sage and cassis, in the base is tonka bean. But the heart and soul of this fragrance is tobacco and more tobacco. For more information check out Ellie's review!    • Aramis Tobacco Reserve Fragrance Review  

At number six a fragrance for when you are suited and booted. Tom Ford's Ombre Leather 2018. The smell of a new sports car just after the supermodel has climbed out of the passenger seat and closed the door! Ellie's detailed review    • Tom Ford Ombre Leather 2018  

At five is another Tom Ford, the Noir Anthracite. This fragrance is all about spice! There's a blast of Sichuan pepper and ginger in the top notes, more spice in the heart notes and a green muskiness from galbanum. The base is warm and smooth with woods and leather.

Number four is the Bleu de Chanel Parfum. Bleu de Chanel parfum is all about the woods for me. Sandalwood, cedar with a twist of fresh mint and just a hint of pineapple!    • Bleu de Chanel Parfum Fragrance Review  

Number Three is Creed Viking. Fiery and masculine with excellent projection and longevity. Creed is all about the quality of ingredient and that freshness that is in all of their fragrances. Much more detail in Ellie's review    • Creed Viking Best Selling Christmas Fragra...  

Number Two is Stronger with You from Armani. This fragrance is growing increasingly popular and is flying off the shelves in store at the moment. At number one is Valentino Uomo Intense. Class in a glass bottle and one of the best masculine iris fragrances I've smelled. From the opening, it's bright and uplifting with mandarin orange and clary sage. The heart of iris and tonka make it elegant and the base of vanilla and black leather make it smooth and sensual. The compliment king!
