Mitten Lake recreation site is a single campsite location. The only thing it really offers is a fantastic lake with dock that is perfect for launching small watercraft. There isn't many photo's of this site and after arriving I understood why. Swarms of bugs make this site less desirable but they also keep the lake very active with well fed cutthroat trout.
Losing my fishing rod was unfortunate but I was lucky to have my backup rod with me. It saved the following day with catching even more trout. Even though the lake produced fish very quickly, I spent hours on the water making the catches that I did land in the kayak. Had it not been for the fishing kayak, none of what I managed would have been possible.
Thanks for watching! This was the best fishing I had so far this year. Glad I've put the new kayak to good use. More adventures coming up all summer.
