That your muscles operates off of, and respond to, the effort and intention of your set and not merely on the numerical value of your weights?
To truly stimulate muscle growth, you have to challenge yourself beyond what might seem comfortable. You have to push most of your sets to what we call “near failure”
What might be some signs that you need to crank that effort and learn to train closer to failure?
✖️You find yourself able to casually chat during your set
✖️your last 2-3 reps feel the same as your first 2-3 reps
✖️the velocity of your concentric never seems to slow down
✖️every set feels equally as challenging
✖️you’ve been using the same weights forever
✖️you see minimal results
✖️don’t know what progressive overload is or how to implement it
✖️feel like rest periods and/ or days are unnecessary
✖️you feel like you should do “cardio” or “Core” during your rest periods
✖️You feel like you need to do 10+ exercises a session
