The Ohr HaChaim reveals that the real danger wasn't on earth—it was in Shamayim. The malachim were accusing: these Egyptians worship avodah zarah, and so do the Jews. The Pesel Micha came through the sea with them. Why should Israel survive? Rabbi Klapper explains that tefila, as powerful as it is, wasn't enough to answer this accusation. Hashem needed something else—bitachon made visible. Not words about trust, but action. Jump into the sea. Show me you believe I'll save you. And when Nachshon jumped, the sea split.
