August 2015 completion of the High Sierra Trail through-hike in California. We started in Sequoia National Forest at Crescent Meadows and hiked to Whitney Portal after summiting Mount Whitney. Awesome hike and experience. There were a lot of wildfires during this time and we had huge amounts of smoke much of the time.
This video is essentially a 6-day vlog of our experience hiking the HST. I included still photos I took with my Olympus E-PL5 and some panoramas from my cell phone. The video is pretty long but so was the hike. And you get to see me ruin a completely good map with a Sharpie in the name of art.
The most memorable part of the hike for me had to be the hike up Trail Crest at sunrise. My biggest regret was not shooting video at the summit.
This was my first attempt at video editing and I used PowerDirector for PC. Most of the footage was shot on my Olympus E-PL5 and there are a few clips that I recorded with my cell phone, a Galaxy S6. Anyway, this video was a labor of love. Enjoy!
