Lauren Fine, Esq., Co-Director of the Youth Sentencing & Reentry Project (YSRP), explains how youth end up in the adult criminal justice system in Pennsylvania, how we can help keep them out of the system, and the need to be thoughtful about language and the role that it can play in both humanizing and dehumanizing individual people.
Lauren Fine, Esq. is the co-founder and Co-Director of the Youth Sentencing & Reentry Project (YSRP) and a 2014 Echoing Green Black Male Achievement Fellow, in partnership with the Open Society Foundations.
Before YSRP, Lauren was a Zubrow Fellow in Children's Law at Juvenile Law Center, a federal law clerk, and a research assistant/project manager at the Brookings Institution. Lauren is a graduate of Yale University and Duke University School of Law. She is a "Big Sister" to an awesome 15 year old and volunteers with the Pennsylvania Coalition for the Fair Sentencing of Youth.
