I’m an anxious person. I worry about… pretty much everything 🥲 Anyone else??
To me, my anxiety feels like a kind of fear. A fear of the unknown, or a fear of what might go wrong, I’m not entirely sure. But I have found affirmations incredibly helpful to ease my anxiety, particularly at the time it’s really peaking and taking control of my day 😵💫
An affirmation is a phrase or sentence of reassurance… usually something that is kinda the opposite of how your anxiety is making you feel… And you simply repeat it back to yourself whilst you sit and breathe!
Some of my go-to mantras:
✨ I am safe. I am loved.
✨ I am everything I need.
✨ I am strong, I am capable, I can do this
Essentially, tell yourselves the words that you need to hear. Be your own best friend! Become your biggest cheerleader! 🥳 And sitting and consciously breathing whilst you do it is the cherry on the top 👌🏼
Top tip: try making your exhale a moment longer than your inhale 😌 it really helps settle your nervous system.
