Economy to Europe: 26 hours & 3 planes from Melbourne to Zagreb

Описание: Join us as we travel from Melbourne to Zagreb the long way — tackling 26 hours of travel, flying across three flights in economy class on our journey back to Europe.

Our adventure begins at Melbourne Airport, where we stop for a quick bite at the House Lounge by Aspire before boarding Qantas flight QF37 for the 8-hour flight from Melbourne to Singapore.

After landing at the incredible Singapore Changi Airport, we navigate a quick 1 hour 40 minute transit before boarding our next flight — Lufthansa LH769 from Singapore to Munich, a 13-hour long haul across continents.

Arriving in Munich Airport, we discover our luggage has had a slightly soggy experience thanks to some misplaced ice in the overhead locker! With limited time, we take a quick wander through the airport, checking out the duty free stores and Munich’s famous smoking lounges, before boarding our final flight — Lufthansa LH1726 to Zagreb.

Once in Zagreb, Croatia, we’re surprised at how quick and simple the customs and immigration process is. From there we collect our hybrid rental car from Alamo and begin a 2-hour drive through Croatia toward Slovenia and even via a small part of Hungary, navigating toll roads, winter driving conditions and those pesky but essential European vignettes along the way.

Our first destination is Perunika Apartments in Moravske Toplice, located in the beautiful Prekmurje region of Slovenia — the perfect place to recover after a 24-hour travel marathon.
