Earlier in 2025, a close friend suggested a carp fishing social event with a twist - a blind doubles match.
This is where you are blindly paired with somebody and catch as many carp as possible to gain the most weight combined, but with not knowing your paired partner, you wouldn't know how you would be getting on
The venue to host this doubles match - well there was only one venue for this, and that venue is East Delph lakes, small intimate and enough fish for all to catch a few without them holding up in one particular area. There are 3 lakes at East Delph but we decided to split both the front lake and the back lake, with the idea of pairing someone on the front lake and someone on the back lake, this then stops one lake hitting it off and taking top spot, however with an odd number of swims one pair would ultimately be paired on the back lake together.
We don't often carp fish in matches so this was a really refreshing change especially as it was only really down to banter rights alone, I was always in two minds whether to actually film this session or just have a social with some good friends, but of course in the end we couldn't turn down this opportunity to make a film
