Like a lot of our music, these two reels have strong Sligo associations. We associate the first tune, 'Billy Brocker's' with the 60s-era recordings of the McDonaghs of Ballinafad, who played the finest of flute and fiddle music. 'Tom Ward's Downfall' is a classic that was recorded in the 20s and 30s by both Michael Coleman and Paddy Killoran.
