2 x Lancia Delta S4 by Ianniello Hillclimb Monsters in action! - Bergrennen Hemberg 2024

Описание: I still remember the day I saw for the first time a Delta S4 in action, after hundreds of videos watched on YouTube, especially of a hillclimb monster racing in Germany and Switzerland. That day was a slalom held on the Junior layout of Monza Circuit and the Delta wasn't just one but there were three of them. Much later I understood that these weren't genuine Group B machines but creations of the same owner of that hillclimb monster, Bruno Ianniello.

Over the years Bruno has managed to specialize on the famous Italian rally car, building his personal Delta S4 plus some more which are often rented by drivers during rally events and hillclimbs. His cars were initially road versions of the Delta S4 Group B, a category that required approval with the production of at least 200 examples for the public, and which Bruno managed to purchase (with tons of original spare parts) back in the days.

On Bruno's cars the engine is still the same Abarth, twincharged 4-cylinder but displacement has been increased from 1.8 to 2.0 liter, giving a bit more torque to the car, and they are able to produce around 650 hp with a maximum reachable peak of near 800hp at 3 bar of pressure, but never used on these cars during the events. After a good slimming treatment, especially in lightening the engine bonnet and other elements, Bruno's cars weigh less than 1,000 kgs.

The thing I love the most of these cars is the loud demuffled exhaust that gives a really pounding and angry sound. And you can really feel it in your chest when they're accelerating. Really happy to have finally record also Bruno's personal Delta S4 as in all these years I've only managed to see the others on many occasions here in Italy. It was so cool to hear the supercharger whine that only his car has!

Watch Bruno Ianniello and Marco Thöny in action during the 2024 Bergrennen Hemberg, an hillclimb race located in the North-Eest of Switzerland and the first round of the 2024 Swiss Hillclimb Championship (Schweizer Bergmeisterschaft). The course is 1,758 meters long, starting from an altitude of 755 meters and ending at 912 meters above sea level, with an average slope of 8.94%. The first half is quite slow with short straights and several tight corners but after a wide U-turn the course becomes faster and more technical with a series of curves that can be driven at higher speeds.
