Описание: We also wanted to visit the Tuzbair salt lake and the natural arch. A guide told us that currently the “best” route was to follow the road along a pipeline. We did and made very slow progress as it was in a very bad state. We were happy to turn off onto softer tracks. We run good navigation software, Monique does a lot of research into the tracks (incl. offroad travel books, like the one from the Travely) but still we get confused from time to time. Here a farm built an animal pen on the track and we just could not see the track continuing. The farmer was very interested, wanted us to see his baby camel and was keen for some good quality water. After we found the track, we continued a bit before spending the night on a hill overlooking the salt flat. The next morning we drove to the natural arch. We were careful to take the “higher” tracks (closer to the cliffs) as we did not know how soft the salt flats are. You could see the tracks of cars exploring the salt a little. We had a look at the arch, some of the canyons and the salt flat. We then headed back out. On the route out we again saw many horses and camels roaming the steppe.
