Tonight we made pho, a Vietnamese noodle soup that dates back to the French colonial period in Vietnam. This dish was amazing with its savory and sweet flavors topped with refreshing and crunchy garnishes like bean sprouts and basil. Beef Pho Recipe
Pho noodles (1 bag = 4 servings)
1 lb beef brisket
Pho Broth (8 - 10 servings)
4 qts water
2 lbs marrow bones
2 tbsp beef bouillon
Beef soup base (1 spice bag and half of the paste)
2 tbsp fish sauce
2 tbsp rock sugar
1 onion air fried or roasted
small piece of ginger air fried or roasted
Garnish
Bean sprouts
Thai basil
Green onions minced
Raw onions cut into strips
Sauces
Hoisin
Sriracha
1. Boil marrow bones
2. Dump the water and clean the marrow bones to filter out impurities
3. Boil marrow bones again
4. Add in the broth ingredients and let the broth cook for 30-40 minutes
5. Enjoy with pho noodles and beef brisket
6. Add in garnishes, sauces, pepper, Thai chili
