Our first Marella Cruise ..Marella Explorer to the Canary Islands

Описание: This was our first ever cruise with Marella , after doing a number of cruises with P&O and Princess among others we decided it was time to try Marella .
We chose the Canary Islands as a destination and the ship was to be Marella Explorer , one of the older ships in the Marella fleet .
We flew from Stansted airport and the flight went nice and smoothly , no visits to Cardiff on this TUI flight like we had to on our last Caribbean cruise . After arriving in Tenerife we had an approximately 45 minute bus journey to get to the ship .
After picking up our Cruise cards we boarded the ship and headed straight to our room . Our room was on deck 9 and was one of the rooms with the larger balconies it came equipped with a table and two chairs , a sun lounger and a Hammock , a really great space . The room was ok , considering the age of the ship it was in good condition and very clean . Our one concern was the bed , it seemed very low down , but we got used to it and it wasn't a problem .After unpacking we headed to the Squid and Anchor for a drink then we moved on to the Buffet for some well earned food .
After a shower and a change of clothes we headed out for our first night onboard , in-between we had to do our Muster at 9.15 which we found a little strange . We are used to getting onboard and doing it straight away .
It was an earlier night than usual as we were tired from travelling and we had to be up early for an excursion when we arrived in the port of Las Palmas .
So our excursion was called Panoramic Peurto De Mogan , and what a great day we had . Firstly stopping at Maspalomas to witness the amazing sand dunes and then on to Mogan what a beautiful little fishing town this is ,definitely worth a visit .
After returning to the ship we had a bit of time up on the Lido deck before getting ready for our first visit to the Main restaurant Latitude 53 . We had great table and really good service and thoroughly enjoyed our dinner .
Next it was our first visit to the theatre where we had a great time , a soul and Motown inspired music show was very enjoyable . Before heading back up to the Lido deck for the Sail away party . By now the Temperature was starting to drop and it was bait chilly so we finished the evening in the Indigo Night club . Our first impression of Marella was we are not sure but by the end of the second night we were loving it .
