Ghaja is a project on the use of Jatropha curcas, a drought-resistant perennial species for energy production to improve access to sustainable, affordable and more efficient energy options for rural communities in the northern Ghana. The project (April 2009 - December 2014) was funded by EU (Thematic Programme for Environment and Sustainable Management of Natural Resources including Energy - ENRTP) and coordinated by Nucleo Ricerca Desertificazione (NRD-UNISS)- University of Sassari-Sardinia, Italy, in partnership with (Ghana):
Technology Consultancy Centre (TCC) of Kwame Nkrumah- University of Science and Technology of Kumasi, Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) Savanna Agricultural Research Institute, Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MOFA), NewEnergy.
