The Permanent Secretary of the President’s Office, Yunusu Kakande, says they will punish any Resident District Commissioner found to have been involved in election malpractice. Kakande's assurance came as he appeared before the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament to discuss the Auditor General’s report for the financial year 2024/2025. During this meeting, legislators on the committee accused RDCs of usurping the Electoral Commission's powers by determining who should be declared the winner in the elections.
