Today we're going to take a look at the Galvanized Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 2,000 pound EZ-Lube Axles. This has the 5 on 4 and a half inch bolt pattern. This is a marine grade trailer hub assembly that is designed to fit EZ-Lube idler axles. The EZ-Lube axles have the grease zerk fitting on the end of the spindle that allows you to grease the bearings without having to remove the complete hub. This idler hub assembly includes everything shown here. It comes with the bearing races, which are already pre-installed. Outer bearing race right here, inner race right there. It comes with both an inner and outer bearing, comes with the grease seal, the grease cap with the rubber plug, and 5 of the half inch lug nuts. On the EZ-Lube assemblies, they come with this EZ-Lube compatible grease cap.

Makes lubricating your bearings very fast and easy. Basically all you have to do is just remove this rubber plug right here. Once you pop that plug out you'll have access to the zerk fitting on the spindle, so there is no need to disassemble the hub, you can just pump the grease into that zerk fitting. The assembly itself is a sturdy iron construction, as you can see it has a nice galvanized finish. This offers excellent corrosion resistance, so it has ideal use for marine applications like on your boat or personal watercraft, or even on a snowmobile trailer. This is certified by US SAE standards and CSA, which is the Canadian standards. The applications on this is 2,000 pound EZ-Lube trailer axles, with the BT8 spindles.

It is compatible with axles from most manufacturers including Dexter, Lippert, and Alko. The bolt pattern on this is a 5 on 4 and a half. The wheel size that fits on this is 13 inches to 15 inches. Weight capacity per hub is 1000 pounds, so when you have one on each side it gives you your 2000 pound maximum. Now, some information on all of these parts that are included. The bearings that come with it, they use the same part number, inner and outer bearing, and it's an L44643. Has a 1 inch inner diameter.

So on the inner bearing it would just go right on the inner bearing race, right there. Then you have your grease seal, has an overall diameter of 1.983, that would tap right into there, hold all that into place. The outer bearing, again it's the same part number L44643 with the 1 inch inner diameter, go right on the outer bearing race, right there. Then you have your zinc plated EZ-Lube grease cap with the rubber plug, flange diameter on it is 1.99 inches. That would tap right in there, and then you could pop that out and access that zerk fitting on your axle. For this video, I'm just showing you where the parts go. When you go to initially install this, of course, you always want to pack the bearings and then put them in there and then that EZ-Lube is used to be able to maintain it as you go. It also comes with the 5 half inch by 20 size lug nuts, and those would be used to hold your wheel and tire assembly to this hub.

Once you put your wheel up on there, just go ahead and put your lug nuts on there, and then tighten them down to the correct torque specs for you application.
