We’ve now reached the end-game of Pokémon White, where we get surprised with our final battle not being against the champion, but the king of Team Plasma himself, N! We catch Zekrom, defeat N, and get surprised with one of the best plot twists of any Pokémon game…
The battle against N wasn’t too bad, Haxorus was honestly an essential part of my plan for his team. I wanted Reshiram to kill off Zekrom after damaging and paralyzing Reshiram with Dragon Breath and then let my Haxorus set up Dragon Dance to sweep N’s team, but Zekrom ended up taking out Reshiram itself, so since Haxorus couldn’t properly set up, it wasn’t quite the Haxorus sweep that I wanted. N’s team has a major Fighting weakness, with 4 of his Pokémon being weak to Fighting. Archeops does counter them, but it immediately becomes useless once it’s down to half-HP due to its ability, so that’s not helping him. I’m just bewildered on what Vanilluxe and Klinklang are doing on his team, but how his Darmanitan isn’t present. While not the sweep I planned for, I at least did have to use more than just my Haxorus for his team, so I’ll give it that.

After defeating N, we get surprised by this game’s biggest plot twist, in Ghetsis openly admitting why Team Plasma was created to begin with and that it was all apart of his evil scheme, then threatening the protagonist. His team includes a Cofagrigus, Bouffalant, Bisharp, Eelektross, Seismitoad, and an illegal Hydreigon. Again, Haxorus was an essential part of my strategy to beat his team as it was for N. However this time, his Cofagrigus actually took out Zekrom which gave Haxorus the chance to set up, however I wanted to avoid using Dragon Claw since I’d risk getting its ability, Mold Breaker, swapped for Mummy if Haxorus made contact with Cofagrigus, since I needed Haxorus to take out Eelektross, but that ended up being futile anyway. Haxorus was at least able to sweep Hydreigon and Bouffalant in a pinch and was able to slow down Seismitoad with Bulldoze to get Emboar ready to out-speed and finish it with Grass Knot before it got taken out, so at least that went according to plan. Eelektross wasn’t that bad either, even without the use of Haxorus’s Mold Breaker Bulldoze to hit it for super-effective damage. I attempted to finish off Bisharp, the last Pokémon to come out, with my Carracosta to at least use it once here, thinking it’d take a hit due to its naturally high defense, but I got unlucky with Bisharp getting a critical hit and taking it out before I could defeat it, making me use Krookodile. All in all, this was a decently challenging battle, and I’d still attribute most of my success here to Haxorus. I also like his theme, it kind of reminds me of Arceus’s theme from DPPt.
Don’t take the term endgame as if I’m done with the playthrough here though; we still have the post-game to cover, even if it doesn’t have as much content as Platinum/HGSS’s post-games.
