The goal of their KTP was to integrate technologies into Motive's marine back deck equipment to collect & analyse utility data. By adding the data collection capabilities and applying optimisation & data science methodologies to this equipment, Motive were able to enhance operational safety & efficiency for their customers and develop new revenue generating products & services.

Motive recognised that the successful adoption and deployment of any data driven innovation would depend equally on awareness raising and training across employees, partners and customers. Therefore, a comprehensive

programme of capacity development and culture change was also an integral part of this KTP.
Together with their KTP Associate, the KTP delivered a monitoring system, Smartwinch, which can gather data from various types of equipment, and also measure the amount of wire paid in/out of a winch, and the tension on the wire at any time. This gives Motive a clear product differentiator from its competitors.
