Ingredients for making Bombil Fry / Fried Bombay Duck with Gravy:-
Bombil (Bombay Duck) - 8-10 nos
Garlic - 10-12 cloves
Green Chilly - 4-5 nos
Coriander - 1 cup
Red Chilly Powder - 2 tbspn
Turmeric - 1/2 tspn
Tamarind Pulp - 2 tbspn
Ground Coconut - 2 tbspn
Salt
Hing
Suji for coating
Oil for frying
Method:-
Make a paste with garlic, chillies, coriander with less water.
Marinate the fish with this paste, salt, turmeric, red chilly powder and tamarind pulp.
Keep aside for 10 mins.
Bombil Kalwan :-
Heat oil in a pan / kadhai . Add some crushted garlic.
Once the garlic is little brown add some hing .
Add the half of the mainated fish and cook for 2 mins on high flame. Do not stir.
Now add 1 cup water and 2 tbspn ground coconut.
Cook without stirring for 2-3 mins
Garnish with chopped coriander.
Bombil Fry :-
Roll the fish in dry suji .
Heat oil on a tawa and cook the bombil on high flame : for 2 mins on each side.
Serve hot.
