Qatar LNG Halt Hits India | Russia Offers Oil Amid Iran War | Strait of Hormuz Crisis

Описание: The escalating West Asia conflict is now hitting India’s energy security. Qatar has halted liquefied natural gas production after drone attacks targeted facilities at Ras Laffan Industrial City, the world’s largest LNG export hub. The disruption is already squeezing gas supplies to India, which depends on Qatar for nearly 40% of its LNG imports.
India’s largest LNG importer, Petronet LNG, says it has been unable to send tankers to Qatar due to security risks in the Strait of Hormuz — one of the world’s most critical energy corridors. Several industrial users and city gas distribution companies have already reported supply cuts of up to 40%.
Meanwhile, Russia has offered to divert crude oil shipments to India to help offset supply disruptions. Reports suggest nearly 9.5 million barrels of Russian crude are already on vessels near Indian waters, potentially providing relief to refiners facing shortages.
The crisis comes as shipping through the Strait of Hormuz faces severe disruption following Iranian attacks on vessels after U.S.–Israeli strikes on Iran. Russia has also strongly condemned the U.S. campaign against Iran and criticized Washington’s actions in the conflict.
