OVERVIEW
Donald Trump is a master communicator. Whether Trump is discussing immigration, or free trade agreements, he does so in a manner that everyone can understand and with catchy slogans. It was never cognitively taxing for an audience to listen to Donald Trump because Trump rarely resorts to using technical terms or complicated concepts.

Communicating at an emotive rather than an intellectual level
Donald Trump’s clear and simple presentation style sparked emotional reactions in nearly all listeners, which ensured the media covered his every move with sensationalised headlines. While some voters felt a sense of freedom by Trump pushing boundaries, other voters felt outraged and fear. Because nearly all voters felt an emotional reaction to Trumps comments, however, nearly everyone was primed to tune into his next message. In contrast Hillary Clinton presented a more intellectual message. Listening to Clinton required higher levels of mental energy to follow and she also provided the media with less interesting and catchy sound bites. Therefore, Donald Trump was more successful in dictating the emotional tone of the election campaign. By the end of the campaign the Trump crowds has become familiar with many of the Trumps slogans and many voters started becoming involved in the Trump movement to be part of an entertainment spectacle.
