First we are talking about Rhodes. Rhodes is a town in the state of Lemoyne that used to be deep in confederate territory. Recently the town has fallen upon hard times as it tries to change it's deep past. Today the town mainly focuses on the cotton industry. Rhodes main source of income is the cotton mill that lies to the eastern side of town. There around 10-15 NPC's that have jobs there that range from moving cotton into the gin in the inside building to loading up the wagons that show up every single day. It's intense work and you can see that from the workers taking small breaks in the buildings away from the sweltering sun. As the sun begins to set the NPC's begin to stop what there doing and start to head home. Home is a group of buildings north of Rhodes where the group has a small community where they go to share stories and get meals. (You can see all that if you go out and visit the location)
Besides the cotton mill we also have the townspeople in Rhodes itself. Here the people have more miscellaneous jobs that range from things like transporting lumber from the train yard to some shops or moving feed to the general store. You can find gardeners working along the saloon and tending to the wealthy that live in the hills right above. It's a little tight knit community. You can also see the little things like the town sheriff walking along the town looking for any criminals or the some workers sweeping the train station.
If you leave Rhodes you will then head towards Hill Haven Ranch. Here you will find thing Ranchers tending to the cattle with things like spreading hay and filling up the water troughs but then you also go out see and amazing cool detail. Every morning a rancher will take a wagon filled with milk and go to a town like San. Denis, Rhodes, Blackwater etc. to make delivers with the milk. If you follow him he will make and complete his destination and even go and head back towards the ranch back home. 0.1 percent of players would even go out and see things like that so it's really cool seeing Rockstar's attention to detail.
Heading further north would then lead you up to Emerald Ranch. Emerald Ranch is owned by a wealthy capitalist who is trying to drive all the other Ranchers bankrupt around the area to be the only one in control Besides those crazy details the people that work here work like just the other people here in town. Ranchers take care of the animals and their pens, workers make sure that the the roads are clean and watch the animals from outside the pens. You find famers tending to the crops on the inside of the ranch and you find gardeners tending to all the flowers going out and pulling the weeds. Even though there are some not nice things going on here it's still a pretty quaint little community.
What I really like about this is how the Hill Haven Ranch milk wagon will actually go and travel around the map instead of just sticking to one static location. I left a link to a video that you should check out in the top of the description that you should go and check out. It goes into more depth about this and how cool it really is. That's a really cool detail and I am sure there are more details like this just hidden in the game code somewhere. We just have to find it.
What I didn't do in this video is test whether things like rain or high speed winds would affect if the NPC's go out and perform certain tasks like their job. Would the NPC's at the ranch or cotton mill go to work our would they just stay home in their community? I think that's a good question that nobody has answered so If someone can go out and see this and let everyone know in the comments that would be really helpful.
