Amish/Mennonite Style Cooking! | Cook a Whole Amish Style Meal | Lynette Yoder

Описание: Today I did another Amish/ Mennonite Style Cooking Video! Cook along with me! I hope you enjoy my MIL's rhubarb recipe that she uses!

Rhubarb Torte:
1 C. butter (solid, and then cut into fine pieces)
2 C. flour
2 T sugar
Mix until crumbly. Pat into a 9x13 pan and bake at 350 for 10 min.

5 C finely diced rhubarb
6 egg yolks (save the whites)
2 C sugar
7 T flour
1 C heavy cream
1/4 tsp. salt
Mix together and pour over crust. Bake at 350 for approximately 45 min until custard is set.
Beat the egg whites stiff. Then gradually add:
3/4 C sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp cream of tarter
Spread over baked torte. Bake for 10-15 minutes!

Ranch Style Potatoes:
6-8 medium potatoes (quarter and cook)

Mix Ranch dressing and Sour Cream together. Even amounts. And you can add ranch seasoning too if you like.
1/2 C crumbled bacon
1 C shredded Cheddar cheese
Mix this with the potatoes and cook until heated through. You could also add cornflakes, melted butter and more shredded cheese as a topping at the last 20 minutes of baking.

Oven BBQ Chicken
8-10 Chicken Thighs, legs or mixture
Mix 1/4 C flour & Salt ( or more spices if you'd like)
Dip chicken in flour and fry in butter until brown.
Mix:
1/3 C sugar
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. chili powder
1/4 tsp pepper
Add 1/2 margarine ( melted) or fryer drippings
Mix :
1/4 C vinegar
1/4 C. ketchup
4 T hot water
Add that to the other mixture and also add BBQ sauce to it. Mix well
Pour Over Chicken and bake at 350 for an hour or until cooked through.
