While most people see the Vietnam War as ending when the United States military pulled out, the Australian armed forces remained active until 1973. During this time the fighting went on, and the Australian cooperation with ARVN grew. Viet Cong strength was growing, and the heavily armed NVA was slowly pushing downwards towards Saigon, threatening the Australians based near there. Bob Redman adds some comments regarding the end of his service in South Vietnam, his return home, and his later missions and roles in the Royal Australian Air Force.
